Donaldson Named Fellow of the American Bar Foundation

Perry & Walters, LLP is pleased to announce that firm partner Pete Donaldson as been named a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honorary organization of lawyers, judges, law faculty and legal scholars,
elected by their peers because of outstanding achievement in the legal profession. Membership encompasses less than one third of one percent of licensed attorneys in each jurisdiction.

The American Bar Foundation is the nation’s leading research institute for the empirical study of law. An independent, non-profit organization, the ABF advances the understanding and improvement of the law through research projects of unmatched scale and quality on the most pressing issues facing the legal system in the United States and the world.

Donaldson practices criminal defense law, general litigation and family law. He has successfully tried civil and criminal cases before juries in the state courts of Georgia including Atlanta, Macon, Columbus, Savannah and the 25 counties in Southwest Georgia. He is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, serves on the faculties of state and national trial practice programs, has held numerous offices in local and state bar groups and is the past president of the 1,600 member Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.


Donaldson listed as Georgia ‘Super Lawyer’

Perry & Walters, LLP is pleased to announce one of the firm’s attorneys, Pete Donaldson, has been named to the Georgia Super Lawyers list as one of the top attorneys in Georgia. No more than five percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by Super Lawyers.

Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a rigorous multi-phased process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The Super Lawyers lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyersmagazines and in leading city and regional magazines across the country. Super Lawyers magazines also feature editorial profiles of attorneys who embody excellence in the practice of law.

Atlanta area office of Perry & Walters opens

Perry & Walters, LLP is pleased to announce the expansion of the firm to the Atlanta area. Huff Croxton, Jr., a partner with the group, has opened the office location at 5755 Northpoint Parkway in Alpharetta, Ga. The expansion to the Atlanta area allows Perry & Walters to provide services to a new client base, while continuing to service the Southwest Georgia area. Croxton specializes in the areas of corporations, partnerships, and LLC’s, business transactions, taxation, estate planning, trusts and estates, and probate.

“Many of our clients have a statewide or regional presence, and having an office in the Atlanta area allows us to more conveniently serve them. During this modern age of technology, this expansion can be undertaken while maintaining almost seamless connectivity with the Albany office,” Croxton said. “In addition, I will still be in the Albany office several times a month.”

Croxton received his degree from the University of Georgia School of Law and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association and the Dougherty Circuit Bar Association.
